Moonstar creates minimal and functional footwear, hand-produced by highly skilled craftsman in Kurume, Japan, since 1873. Kurume has long been recognized as a centre of Japan's rubber industry, famed for the production of tyres and jika-tabi - rubber-soled work boots featuring a split toe. The company originated as a manufacturer of tabi socks and later developed into the production of jika-tabi, split toe shoes with a rubber sole.
Handcrafted by skilled craftsman in Japan, this fine quality shoe is made for all kinds of weather, featuring a canvas and rubber upper, and vulcanized rubber sole. Vulcanized shoes are durable and flexible.
Designed to be worn in rainy, snowy and muddy conditions.
